Hi Guru, I have a friend who is a foreigner purchased a FarEast 1 bed room suites which TOP Dec 2014. He intent to sell or transfer the ownership to me, and I will pay for the balances 80% which deducted 20% downpayment. Is it possible for transfer the apartment ownership to non-relative person, and what is the procedure?

Hello Yong,

Yes, it is possible to do so. I would suggest you speak to a banking professional first regarding your financing for this purchase. You are then able to find out your loan quantum and how much payment is required. Regardless of which bank you decide to use, all banks have their own panel of lawyers to assist you in your property transaction.

But if you are not taking a loan and paying in full cash, then all you need to do is to find a law firm which does property conveyancing and they will do the necessary for you.
