Hi experts,
I would like to ask about HDB MOP.
I am helping my father in law to buy a house in Malaysia. Due to his age, he is not able to get loan more than 10 yrs. So Malaysian bank actually suggested to add my name into getting the housing loan. (The house ownership only belongs my father-in-law).
However, I am still within HDB MOP since i've just got my flat about 2 years.
May I know serving housing loan oversea violates the minimum MOP of 5 years? Thanks

Hello, you may want to check wtith HDB on this matter for the final confirmation.

From what i gather from this article, https://www.stproperty.sg/articles-property/singapore-property-news/errant-flat-buyers-face-stiff-penalties/a/58378

- Owners of non-subsidised HDB flats are affected as well. If they have not met the minimum occupation period (MOP) of five years, they will not be allowed to buy a private property here or overseas.

It's a no.

Better check wtih HDB. Read More
