Hi,
Any advice, please?
We refused to sign apartment hand over documents as we disagreed with the agent on wording. The agent wanted to write that the floors are scratched all over while we believe the floors had normal wear and if there are any defects, they have to be explicitly described (what scratch is where etc). Also, the agent saw what we do not see: a molded ceiling.
We proposed to write in the hand-over papers that we disagree and describe each party point of view.
We proposed that if we can not agree on what is normal tear and wear, we have to engage the third party.
The agent disagreed to write on hand-over papers that we do not agree on the apartment condition.
She said she would bring the LL over to discuss the situation.
We are not sure what to do.
One idea is to start counting 14 days starting from tomorrow and if the deposit is not returned in 2 weeks, go to the small claims court.
I am worrying that we did not sign any papers. What implications it can have?
Unfortunately previous experience dealing with this agent and LL does not promise much. They were very slow and not willing to do repairs. E.g., like we had broken toilets, a heater and kitchen for months.
Thanks
