Dear All,

Currently I have one HDB and one private condo. can i sell my HDB and purchase another HDB? Reason is to change of HDB from 4 room to 5 room. If not, in what circumstances that can sell HDB and buy HDB?

Hi Mr SG, the only option for you to sell the current HDB and to purchase another HDB unit, will be to dispose off your private condo as well.

Hi Mr. SG,

You will need to sell off both your current 4-rm and your private property, within 6 months after key collection to your next resale 5-rm hdb. It may not be in your best interests to do so, may I have more details so to make better recommendations? Thanks and hope to assist further.

Yes you are eligible to purchase a resale HDB but you have to dispose off both properties within 6 months from purchase completion date.

By doing this, you will have to fulfill 5 years of minimum occupation before you can purchase a private property again.

I do understand that you wish to own a bigger HDB, most probably for own stay i guess.

If you dont want to dispose off your private property, you might want to consider selling off your HDB to purchase a private property instead?

Probably you can share more with me so I will be in a better position to advise you further.

Our government takes good care of the poor. When you have nothing, you start with HDB and slowly build up your wealth, upgrade your HDB and also get to buy condo as 2nd property. Evening,

Under the current HDB ruling, should you decide to sell your exisiting HDB unit to upgrade, you have to remove the ownership status on the private property within 6 months from key collection.

Hi Sir,

Happy New Year! Under the current HDB ruling, you will need to dispose off both your HDB and Condo unit if you were to purchase another HDB. After purchase the HDB, there will be a minimum occupation period of 5 years that will be imposed on you during which you will not be able to purchase a private property.

Hi Mr. SG L,

For the best advise, is that, if you do have the intention not to let go of your current private condo. Please stay put with your HDB, anyway there will be no point in selling off your condo just to change your 4 rooms flat for a 5 rooms flat and have to wait for another 5 years later before you can start to purchase your private property again.
