Dear agents, i am reaching age 55 on 15 june next year 2016 and will like to sell away my present 5rm flat and downgrade to a 4rm flat. My question is : when will the retirement min sum kicks in with effect? Understand that hdb selling will have 2 appointments if i am doing contra. Will i be safe if the hdb first appointment falls before i turn age 55? Reason for my selling is to clear away the existing hdb loan i have and use the cash proceeds to fund my nect 4rm purchase. Secondly is to avoid the cpf retirement sum when i reach age 55 next year. Need some advise here. Thank you all.

Afternoon Mr. Lee,

Funding for purchase are usually deducted around 2 weeks before completion date, at the latest. Hence we will have to work on it to ensure that the application have being submitted by Jan 2016.
