If your loan is with HDB, the deed will be kept with HDB unless you request for it to be issued out to you.

If your loan is with the Bank, the Bank will issue the title deed to you.

Hi,

Most buyers will allow HDB to safekeep for them. You can request for a copy, but I believe its chargeable. If you do have excess funds available, paying down the HDB fully may not always be the best use of funds towards securing your retirement, especially if the flat is a 20-30 years old flat.
