Simei Street 1 was earlier known as Tampines South, Simei, was officially renamed in the year 1985. The backstory of the town’s existence is quite interesting as the town’s name was decided to be kept honouring four beauties in the Chinese history: Xi Shi, Wang Zhaojun, Diaochan, and Yang Guifei. Hence, the name Simei is the pinyin version of ‘Four Beauties’ in Chinese. The town comes under the town of Tampines and is a sub-zone located in the Eastern part of Singapore. With a total of 42,710 people residing in this place, there are plenty of facilities and amenities which consists of recreational places, dine-out places, reputed schools, MRT stations, hospitals, retail stores, international schools, tertiary institutions, and the list goes on.
