Tampines Avenue 4
About Tampines Avenue 4
The town ‘Tampines’ got its name from the large iron trees, or tempinis as called in Malay, which used to grow abundantly earlier in the place. Moreover, large swamps also covered most of the areas, but since the Singapore authority chose the place to serve as a residential hub, the place has undergone many transformations. Covering a vast area of 2089 hectares of land now, Tampines now bags the position of the third most populous town in Singapore closely following Bedok and Jurong West. The place which also earlier served as a military training base until the year 1987, offers a plethora of opportunities and entertainment facilities to its people. No wonder, the popularity of the area has been spiking in recent years.
