Sigrid Zialcita is the new CEO of the Asia Pacific Real Estate Association.

Sigrid Zialcita has been named as the new CEO of the Asia Pacific Real Estate Association (APREA), with effect from 2 January.

Prior to her position at APREA, Zialcita served as managing director of Asia Pacific Research at Cushman & Wakefield for more than 15 years where she was responsible for thought leadership, client management and strategy formulation.

The economist by training had also worked at the National Association of Realtors in Washington DC and at PricewaterhouseCoopers in New York City.

APREA noted that she was a recognised expert and industry spokesperson on global economic, public policy and real estate issues.

“I am confident that with her extensive experience in the real estate sector and qualifications, she will bring new perspectives and lead APREA into its next phase of growth,” said APREA chairman John Lim.

“APREA’s mission is to promote real estate as an asset class and we want to do so through research excellence, sound advocacy and fostering a more connected industry.”

Meanwhile, Zialcita said she is looking forward to her new role and will build on the strong foundations of APREA “by working closely with our members to provide them with greater access to real estate-related opportunities and promoting the real estate sector in Asia Pacific as a whole”.

She will be replacing Peter Verwer, who Lim said was responsible for strengthening APREA as “the go-to organisation for real estate-related best practices and policies and as a platform for its members to connect and learn from the best-in-class”.
