Glamorous sophistication and understated luxury underpin the rich depth of the interiors at Amber45, the latest residential development by the innovative UOL Group Limited which was established around 55 years ago. Set in the well-connected and upscale Marine Parade neighbourhood in Singapore’s East Coast (District 15), the freehold condominium is cleverly designed to ensure superb views and plenty of space within units. Luxe interiors are beautifully crafted to complement residents’ personalised interiors whilst adding a high-end resort feel throughout.
The result is Amber45 achieving a Best Luxury Condo Interior Design win at the 8th annual PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards (Singapore) in October 2018. Index Design led the interior design with the support of ADDP Architects and landscaping by Ecoplan Asia.
The neutral palette of the interiors complements the richness of materials such as marble and timber to create clean finishes and warm spaces. A homely beige marble is used in the living and dining areas, while a soft grey marble in the bathrooms give them the ambience of spa sanctuaries. Wooden flooring in the bedrooms adds warmth, while high-quality wood-look laminate continues this design up the full-height wardrobes. The white, glossy fitted-kitchens appear fresh and contemporary, ensuring each condominium’s interior design combines light and shade.
Finishes enhance the design concept with timber-looking backsplashes in the kitchen and accents of bronze, whilst bathrooms have feature mirrors and vanity storage with black metal accents.
Set on a challengingly long, thin plot close to 70,000 sq ft, Amber45’s 21-storey tower forgoes one-bedroom units and goes for larger two- to four-bedroom condos instead, creating units that are “built to be cherished” for generations to come with interiors to match. Amber45 boasts 60 two-bedroom units ranging from 614 to 872 sq ft; 40 three-bedroom units of between 1,130 to 1,324 sq ft; and 39 spacious four-bedroom units sized from 1,346 to 1,798 sq ft.
Greg Shand, one of this year’s judges and the founder of award-winning Robert Greg Shand Architects, praised the development for the practical use of space, lifestyle approach and design aesthetic.
“Amber45 innovates in interior planning through the clever integration of circulation and functional spaces. Luxurious fittings, details, and materials at the dry kitchen exude quality living. Special attention was given to the larger units with bespoke views down the length of the lap pool.”
A 50-metre lap pool is expertly integrated with other amenities and landscaping to ensure Amber45 stands out as a luxurious boutique residential property outside Singapore’s city centre. Pavilions, water features, pathways and greenery complete the retreat ambiance of the condo’s social spaces. There are also wellness pools, a spa alcove, tennis court, entertainment room, kids’ playground and bubble pool.
The same subtle, classy, yet well-defined interior-design concept runs through the clubhouse and gym pavilion with grass roof, which are designed with floor-to-ceiling windows. Amber45 is a fine example of how design restraint and quality can be used to develop a timeless classic.
