Wifey and I and both Singapore citizens and are posted in Australia. For the past 2 years have gotten permission from HDB to rent out our flat. We have not met the MOP requirements. As we are still here in Australia, we recently applied to have another 2 years to rent out flat but HDB said no. Is there a change in law? Anyone out there experience this? Is there a change in law? Can appeal? Thanks

Evening Shenly,

Under the current ruling, if you are renting out the unit to non Malaysian PR, HDB will only allow a max of 18 months rental. Therefore, it might be good to apply for rental based on yearly basis, alongside with the necessary documentations to facilitate the paperwork.
