Hi, this will depend on when you sell your current hdb.

If you sell it before your BTO key collection, it will be paid in cash when you collect the keys for your BTO.

If you sell it after your BTO key collection , it will be deducted from the sales proceeds.

Hi,

When is your first subsidized flat sold? If your first subsidized flat is your existing flat, and you collect the BTO keys first, then the resale levy is payable upon the sale of your existing flat and it will be deducted from your sale proceeds.

If you sell before getting BTO keys, you need to pay in cash a lump sum for the resale levy while collecting the BTO keys.

I will usually advise my client to time the sale of the current flat together with the keys collection so that they are able to move smoothly from one place to another without the need for interim housing solution and also have some buffer time for renovation.

Hi,

1) You will be asked to pay the resale levy when the keys for the BTO are ready for collection.
2) You may appeal to the HDB to pay after the completion of the sales of your current flat, provided you have already issued the OTP. You will have a higher chance of success when the resale application has been approved by the HDB.

The timing of selling your current HDB flat affects the payment of the resale levy.

If you sell your current flat before collecting the keys to your BTO, the resale levy must be paid in cash at the time of key collection.
