Hi,

If its their 1st residential property (no other overseas property) and their matrimonial home, they are likely to qualify for ABSD remission, which entitles them to only the usual 3% stamp duties. Thanks and hope it clarifies, may I have the opportunity to assist further?

Warm regards,

Hi Doris, for your case, stamp duty payable is at 3% and no additional stamp duty required as one of you is a citizen. But pls do take note that only the citizen could apply for the loan only and not the foreigner when it comes to purchasing of hdb unit. Pls feel free to let me know if you need any assistance.

Good morning Doris,

Great hearing from you.

FYI as your household consists of one Singaporean, you will not be subject to additional stamp duty of 15% even though your spouse is a foreigner because IRAS will treat your first residential property purchase as your matrimonial home.

Hope my explanation helps!

If you need any assistance or advice on your property purchase, feel free to contact me. Cheers.
