Hi Serene, the MOP of 5 years is a must for all HDB owners before they are either allowed to purchase the next private condo or to sell of their HDB. For selling of HDB for less than 5 years of stay, one has to be able to have a strong point to appeal and again it is a case to case basis.

Do take note that you have to fulfil the applicable minimum occupation period first before you are eligible to purchase a private property.

Unless you have special valid reason for doing so, you can try to appeal through your HDB branch office.
