HDB will not automatically include your spouse as a co-owner. If your spouse do not already own any property, he or she will be the occupier instead, and he or she will not be eligible to purchase another HDB.

Hi,

1) Your spouse won't automatically become an owner of your HDB flat.
2) Your spouse can only be an occupier once you update your profile in the MYHDB.
3) In order to be an owner of your flat. Your spouse must be an SC or an SPR to begin with.
4) You may include him/her as an owner by transferring some shares to him/her.
5) However, you or he/she has to top up the funds utilized + accrued interest withdrawn from your CPF fund on the number of shares.
6) The other way would be to sell him/her at the market rate of the amount of share transfer.
7) If there is an outstanding loan on the HDB flat. He/she will also bear the responsibility to pay for the loan.
