If you are referring to resale levy for selling your current hdb flat, there is no resale levy applicable if you move to private residential condominium.

Dear Sir/Mdm,

There is no need to pay any resale levy when you upgrade from a HDB to a private condo. Resale levy is only applicable if you were to buy a new BTO flat or a new Executive Condo.

I have assisted many of my clients to upgrade successfully from a HDB to a private condo. There are 2 important issues to take note during the upgrading process. One is the finances to ensure that you do not overstretch yourself and also to avoid paying the Additional Buyer Stamp Duty and to keep your cash outlay to the minimal. The other issue is the timeline planning so that you are ale to transit smoothly from your HDB to your next property without the need for an interim housing.

Hi,

You will only need to pay a resale levy after the sale of your HDB flat if you had purchased a BTO direct from HDB or an Executive Condominium direct from the Developer.

In your case of upgrading to a private residential, there is no resale levy payable. You can safely proceed for your upgrading plans.

Do take note that should you purchase the condo before you sell your HDB, you will be liable for ABSD. However, you will be able to claim ABSD refund should you sell off your HDB flat within 6 months of your condo purchase.

If you do not wish to pay any ABSD upfront, you will need to sell off your HDB flat before you commit to your condo purchase. Should you decide this is the best option for you, you will then need to plan the timeline carefully, such that you will be able to avoid shifting house more than once.
