First criteria is to form a valid family nucleus under one of the Eligibility Schemes. Other criteria includes monthly household income ceiling (for BTO), and ownership of private properties.

Hi,

1) You may want to check out on HDB web to understand more.
2) Generally, you have to be an SC in order to buy alone.
3) If you are an SPR, you will have to be under SPR for at least 3 yrs and form a family nucleus with an SC or an SPR who also hold SPR status for a minimum of 3 yrs.
4) New govt flat here is usually uses the abbreviation of BTO (Build-to-Order) or SBF (Sales of Balance Flat).
5) Resale govt flat, we usually will say resale HDB to avoid misunderstanding.
