Care to share more about your situation?

Your current place is HDB or private?
House that you are interested in HDB or private?

Some examples:
1) buy private sell HDB or buy private sell private
you might want to extend the option period longer so you can have a buyer to exercise your sale otp first then you exercise your purchase otp. This is to avoid paying ABSD upfront and able to wait for funds to be back first to pay for the purchase. If not bridging loan might help.

2) buy HDB sell HDB or buy HDB sell private
if you are financially capable and dont need funds from sale to finance purchase, you can proceed to do so first.

If not, you might have to extend resale submission period to get a buyer to exercise your sale otp so you can complete your sale first and use the funds for purchase if not bridging loan might help too.

Extension falls outside completion.

Hi,

1) If you had engaged an agent, he/she will help to manage your timeline of buying and selling. But note there is a limit to this extension.
2) If you are doing DIY. You will have to bring this up to the seller right from the beginning to see whether they can accept delays over this.
3) Because the delay period cannot be confirmed, it is important to ask for the longest delay the seller can accept such as 60~90 days.
4) So that you can have sufficient time to look for a buyer.
5) If this is HDB, you may negotiate with the seller on the delay in resale submission.
6) If this is private, you will have to negotiate with the seller on the delay in exercising the date.
7) But if you have sufficient funds to complete the sale, then you may go ahead to proceed as a normal buying process period.
