Hi,

Yes for all property purchases, BSD of approx 3% applies. For PR there is ABSD on top of the BSD, hence total 8% approx. BSD stands for Buyer Stamp Duty, and ABSD for Additional Buyer Stamp Duty. Its part of the cooling measures to tame rising property prices. HDB sale charges include legal fees, agent commission and hdb admin fees.

Hi,

BSD = Buyer Stamp Duty. Anyone who purchase a property is liable to pay BSD. It is 1% on the first $180,000, 2% on the next $180,000, with the balance being charged 3%.

ABSD = Additional Buyer Stamp Duty. It is part of Government's cooling measures imposed on property ownership. The ABSD rates for PR's first property is 5%. Second property is at 10%.

For Selling HDB, there is no need for you to pay BSD or ABSD. You will just need to pay Agent's commission and Lawyer's fee for conveyancing, and some misc fees charged by HDB.

Good day sir / madam

A standard rate BSD of slightly less than 3% is applicable to ALL residential properties regardless of citizenships or nationalities .

5% ABSD is applicable for p r permanent residents , in addition to BSD .

In other words p r permanent residents will have to pay a total of slightly less than 8% stamp duty to buy a hdb.

NO bsd or absd when selling hdb regardless of citizenship or nationalities .
