Hi,
Although it is advise to do a HLE or IPA before the house search so as to know where and type of before running around like crazy,
But a simple exercise on web can help you determine your budget so as to start to understand where and what type you can buy.
There are quite a lot of things to look out for when buying your first home:
(a) Location: transport, amenities, friends/relative nearby, work place.
(b) Level: how high or low you wish to stay
(c) Type: other than number of bedrooms, you also want to find out the layout other than model.
(d) Facing; feng shui reason, logic/practical reason to have certain facing.
(e) Condition: want to look out for "original" condition or fully furnish to reduce hassle.
(f) Is there a upgrading programme in the area, want to avoid them or not.
All the above, though not exhaustive, but I do believe you will find it is never too early to understand all the factors.
It helps you to narrow down your option to hit target once you got the rights to exercise the OTP.
Hope the above answer to your main concerns, but if there are more queries, please feel free to contact me at
