We just moved in 2+1 HDB 1st floor in the west early this year. The unit was repainted. After 3 months, black molds start to come out. Another 3 months passed, the molds start spreading to other room, other side of the same wall.
The owner said this is the first time it happened. After the contractor concluded that it is our fault, the way we use the room (i.e. opening the AC while the room is open which does not make sense because the room will not be cold), the agent of the house told us we will be charged for the paint job.
The room where the molds starts to come out has attached toilet which has a small window. The toilet door is somewhat airtight aluminum. The room itself has one double casement type of window. While the second room has sliding window which can open wider (a span of two double casement type windows).
We just want to seek your technical expertise on our case if we should bear the cost of paint job. Thank you.
