Are you looking to upgrade or are you a first time buyer?
Technically let us assume that you have no existing property on basis that you are required to pay 5% cash plus 15% using CPF/cash as downpayment, I would estimate a figure of not more than $750k. Why not check with your banker on this since he/she should be in a better position to work out an indicative for you. Not to forget the miscellaneous costs like stamp duty and conveyancing fees on top of potential renovations, I would advise that you be prudent in your purchase plans.
