We are renting an HDB Shop in Fernvale, we took over thir property and operating it as a Family Restaurant. Because of the demographics and the increasing demand in the area we have been very short of staff and decide to sell. We asked HDB on trade restrictions and we received a written reply that there is none. On finding a buyer, we chanced upon one who is very committed and would like to convert the trade to a family clinic. We collected the deposit and sought clarification from HDB to protect the buyer's interest. We are now being told we cannot change to this trade because there is an existing clinic next to our premises. I would like to be advised on this as I dont see this as fair as our contract did not limit the use of the facility mainly for our current trade. Please advise.
