This is on behalf of my father who is a Spore citizen but has been living in Malaysia for 50 years. He is 83, and is thinking of returning to Spore to live. I understand his age disqualifies him from buying directly from the HDB, but would he be eligible for any govt. grant if he were to buy in the HDA resale market ? Also, would his age disqualify him for a loan, either from the HDB or a bank ? Thank you.

Morning Jane,

With your dad's current age, it's unlikely that any financial institue would grant him a loan. If he have enough cash, he can try to apply for the HDB Studio, meant for the older folks.
