There is a 6month grace period to sell off the current HDB property I have upon the confirmation of a second HDB properly. What will happen if I cannot sell the current HDB property in 6 months?

Good afternoon Sir/ Mdm,

You can try to appeal to HDB if you have evidence showing that you have tried reasonable means to market your unit but unable to dispose it within 6 months.

May I know whats your concern or other issues that I can address?

You may want to try to appeal with HDB if there has been reasonable efforts done to market the property. In most of the cases it could been a pricing strategy or marketing strategy issue. I have worked on similar cases and have assisted the owners to sell away their current property within the stipulated period and move in on a smooth transition basis.

You will need to inform HDB the reasons why you are not able to sell off your HDB flat in the 6 months. You will need to provide them with proof of marketing, and at the right price. If you are able to provide the above, you will then need to appeal with HDB for an extension for you to sell off the flat.

Hi, no worries about that and you could always appeal to the HDB for extension. I have cases whereby the owner just gotten the keys to her BTO flat and her old flat took about 9 months to sell.

You might want to ask yourself , is the price of the old hdb you are trying to sell going up or down ?

Should you be hopeful and greedy , or vise versa, cautious and sell at a fair market price as soon as possible .
