The completion date is fixed. But the buyer is telling me now that she needs almost 3 weeks extension due to buyer's issue on her side. I do not wish to drag the completion as i have other uses for the money. The need for extension was also not made known to us earlier. Can i know what steps can be taken? If we ask for compensation, how do we calculate it?

There is no rules stipulating on how you can calculate the compensation terms, however, I really encourage that both parties come together to talk on how to go about resolving the issues. They have conveyed their side of issues, it will probably be good to convey your side of issues such that they can also understand and take measures to see if there is any middle line to meet. While legally speaking you have your rights to exercise to seek interest payment on the delay, sometimes the legal channels may not be necessarily the best option to take.
