Hi Seint,

1) The HDB will not conduct any checks on whether you own any private property locally or overseas.
2) It is based on self-declaration.
3) There is a clause in the Lease agreement from the HDB that providing false or misleading information to the government officers might face a penalty of a $5,000 fine or not more than 6 months imprisonment, or both.
4) On top of (3), the HDB can also exercise according to their discretion to forcefully takeover the flat you bought.
5) There is no time expiry on (3) and (4). The HDB can exercise their right anytime when they find out the truth.

Yes, you will have to self declare when doing your resale submission.

Do take note that there will be hefty penalty for false declaration, with a fine and jail term. You also have a risk of HDB confiscating the flat without compensation. Hence, I would not advise on false declaration.
