Asked by
should the buyer or the seller pay for the evaluation report? My seller has already obtained an evaluation report but now the selling agent is requesting for us to pay for it.
We find this unfair as if the seller intends to sell his unit, in accordance to a price, shouldn't he rightfully proof his case to the seller?

Morning,

I believe this is your frist time buying resale property. Seller request for valuation is to allow the buyer/s to assess their loan eligibility. HDB will only loan 90% of valuation and bank will loan to around 60% to 80% of valuation. The balance is to be pay by CPF / Cash / CPF + Cash.
If you intend to purchase the unit with pure cash, you need not purchase the valuation report. Else, you need to purchase the report, to obtain the loan dispersement.

I'm sure your salesperson would have advised you accordingly.

All the best.
