If you have existing mortgage loan, you are quite likely required to undertake a home fire insurance by the bank (except for OCBC if I am not wrong). Otherwise you may wish to speak to an insurance broker to find out more about what the coverage includes.
For MCST, I am of the understanding that they will also need to take up insurance for the project and this is from the maintenance fees collected from residents. I maybe wrong in this as this is a hearsay.
