Presently, my brother and I co-own a 4-room HDB flat with my parents listed as occupiers. We are both above 35 years and have lived in this flat for 10 years. I intend to buy over his share so he can apply for BTO with my parents. I will be taking a bank loan to refinance the mortgage loan. I will also be getting married in Dec 2013. My fiancé wants to buy a condo on his own in the next 3 months. Do I need to list him as occupier of my HDB flat after our marriage? Will there be any issues with HDB on this, e.g. ASD, etc.

Afternoon Bree,

If you perform the part purchase and complete the transaction prior to your marriage, adding your spouse-to-be in not required. However, you will be required to get her consent if you intend to sell the HDB unit in the future.

Do feel free to contact me if you require further assistance.
