(Part 1) Recently was introduced by a property agent to rent out my 4 room HDB flat. Having understanding that my flat is premature and it is not allow to rent out the whole unit without the HDB approval. i had asked the agent regarding the penalty for subletting out the whole and he had rest assured me that the appeal to the HDB to sublet the whole unit will be approve and if not the most will be a warning for HDB. With that, I had signed a 1 yr lease with a tenant and collected the deposit. 4 days later, appeal had been rejected. And with fear of house will be confiscated, called the agent to advise me further. But instead was been advised to lock up 1 room to carry on with the rental if not bleaching contract will have to compensate 1 mth rental and return back the deposit. i had ask for leniency but the reply from my agent was the other partly agent insisted that i had bleach the contract and got nothing to do with him regarding the rejected appeal.
