Not sure if any agent is able to help me in buying a place of my own. I am 44 this year and earning an income of only $2100 monthly. My CPF money is only about $100K and HLE obtained from HDB is around $125K. I understand if if I obtained HDB loan, I can only buy flat with remaining lease of more than 60 years. With such rule and so little budget, is there any possibility of buying a flat?

Another question is I have a aunt whereby I thought of joining name with her as she is a first timer. She is 63 this years with no or little CPF, can she obtained the grant?

I really desperately need help and advice from you agents. hope someone can offer me sincere answer and help me solve my problem. Thank you

Hi Evelyn,

To be honest, with your current status it is not wise to buy resale flat.

The best way moving forward would be to apply for BTO.

You may apply using Single Citizen Scheme and list your aunt as occupier. However, using this scheme can only buy a 2-room flexi, which is around $80k~$90k without grant.

For detail, you may check with HDB staff at HDB hub level 1 located in Toa Payoh.

As for resale, the choice is really limited and old (less than 60 yrs lease), because of that the usage on amount of CPF is also restricted due to the withdrawal limit imposed.

Do note that Single Citizen scheme on 2-room flexi is only eligible for 1st timer only.
