Hi there,

Yes it is necessary to dispose the property under your child's name even if he is the essential occupier of your HDB flat and a wait out period of 6 months for purchasing a resale HDB.

1) Yes, all owners and occupiers listed in the application must not have any interest in local and overseas private property.
2) Thus you will have to observe a 15-month wait-out period before able to apply for a valid HFE to buy a resale HDB flat.
3) Of course, you and your spouse must already have been holding the SPR status for at least 3 yrs as well.

You will not need to dispose your kids' overseas property as you and your spouse alone are eligible to buy a HDB resale flat as long as both of you have attained SPR status for 3 years or more.

As your children are considered as occupiers in your HDB application, they will need to dispose of any overseas property for you to be eligible to own a Resale HDB flat.

Everyone in the HDB application (owners and occupiers) has to hold SPR status for at least 3 years.
