It seems like your wife is included in the HDB purchase as an essential occupier. If that's the case, she cannot purchase any residential property yet and can only do so after the MOP period is fulfilled .This includes purchases for under construction residential property.

No, there should not be any form of interest in another residential property during the 5 years MOP. This is 1 reason why i always encourage my clients to think carefully before committing to purchase a HDB, especially for BTO where the wait out period is even longer since they will need to wait for construction to be completed.

Hello,
So sorry, you can't due to the MOP restriction. You need to fulfil the MOP before you can purchase private property, even though it'll TOP and be physically built up 3 years later.

That means you need to MOP first, then purchase the new condo. At that point of time, If you're worried about finding a home, we can also look for subsale units that are going to TOP soon, or resale units that are vacant by completion.

Hi,

1) During the MOP period, there is something that cannot be done:
(a) Buy any private property.
(b) Apply for BTO.
(c) Buy a resale HDB flat.
(d) Buy a new launch EC

2) The above list is not exhaustive, but sufficient for you to get my point.
3) The MOP period is to assure those who do not own any HDB flats or private property have a higher chance of getting the above to solve their accommodation needs.
