My wife is Singapore citizen and she bought a BTO HDB with her mom in 2008. At that time she was single and they formed the family nucleus required. Now the BTO is near completion but keys are not yet collected. We got married in 2009. I am Singapore PR. Is it required that I need to be added to the family nucleus? HDB is insisting that my name be added to the list of occupiers, but the website does not say it is required. Can we appeal? How? I do not want to be added as I will lose my ability to purchase private property after that.

Afternoon Ani, Your spouse is one of the owner of the BTO unit. With or without your names being added as occupier, 'spouse consent to sell' form need to be filled up when they have intention to sell the unit in the furture. The HDB officer is advising you to do it so that you are somewhat protected although standard occupier's signature is not required on the OTP. FYI Mike Lim 96929209  m52i@yahoo.com ERA Read More
