Asked by
My wife and I are looking to buy our 1st home (resale HDB).

My wife (Singaporean citizen) has a job that does not contribute to CPF
I (Singapore PR) am self employed and also have not contributed to CPF
We have no savings in CPF (but we do have our own savings). We also have no documentary proof of income so far. We earn 4K on average a month and have loan repayments of less than 500 a month.

We would like to know
1. Do we have to pay ABSD 5%?
2. What grants are we eligible for
3. What can we do start preparing now to purchase next year (e.g. proof of income documents)

Afternoon Daniel,

As your spouse is SC, ABSD is not payable on the purchase. As for income document, you will need to get your company to provide letter indicating your employment status with the company, period of employment and income figures.

Do contact me further should you require additional assistance.

Hi Daniel,
1. No ABSD is payable with your as main owner
2. CPF housing grant of 20K with top up in the future.
3. The first thing to do is to do up a financial plan with loan estimation.

To assist and advise you more in details, kindly drop me an email for me to share.

I am contactable at my mobile or email.
