My wife and I are both SG Citizens and we're looking for a resale HDB as our first property for our own stay, however my wife will be posted overseas for 3-6mths. If I find a suitable unit during her absence, is it possible for me to unilaterally complete the purchase or does she need to fly back?

it stands for Power of Attorney. Your wife can grants you or another person the legal power to act on her behalf.
