My spouse and I owned a HDB 5 Room resale flat for more than 10years. We did not receive any gov grant for the purchase of our resale flat. We did not apply for any HDB before. Therefore, we are first timer in BTO application. Q1) If we apply for a HDB BTO flat, what are the grants are we entitled and under what T&Cs?

Good afternoon,

There wont be as much housing grants for BTO compared to resale flats as BTO are heavily subsidised.

If your combined ceiling is up to $14k, both of you are eligible to buy up to 5rm flat.

If combined income is up to $9k, you will be eligible for enhanced housing grants (EHG)

You can apply for HFE to check your eligibility for grants as well.

Hi Sir/Mdm,

For BTO flats, you are only eligible for the Enhanced CPF Housing Grant if your household income is less than $9,000. If you were to purchase a resale flat, then you will be eligible for the first timer grant of up to $80,000 if you are buying a 4 room or smaller flat.

BTO itself is a grant therefore there is no additional grants, other than enhanced CPF housing grant if you meet the eligibility criteria for household income. If you decide to go for another resale unit, you will then be eligible for the various housing grants like 1st timer and etc. Read More

Hi

For BTO, its not a lot of grants because the price is already considered subsidized. If the monthly income is less than $9k, you may still be eligible for Enhanced Housing Grant, provided you are in continuous employment for 12 months.

For resale, you can be eligible for up to $80k for first timer grants if getting a 4-room size and below, regardless of location. And another proximity housing grant of $20k if buying near parents. And also the aforementioned EHG if income is $9k below. However you will be paying market value of the resale flat.
