my son will be 35 on aug.2013,he is single, can he buys an E apt from open market? and when should he execute the sale, before his birthday or after and is he entitle to any grant( near parent) tks

Morning Mdm Heng,

Single SC are only allowed to purchase HDB unit not bigger than 5 room flat. He will only be entitled to $15k grant if his monthly income is lesser than $5k. To get the higher tier grant, he will be require to have either or both parents name as the occuiper.
It would be safer to execute the purchase after your son's birthday.
