My mum & I is the co-owners of the HDB flat. The flat is fully paid by my parents. I had married a few years ago. Is this possible for me & my wife to buy a new flat using our name ? Do I need to remove my name as a co-owner for my current flat first ?

Hi,
If you are applying for a BTO, you may proceed to submit the application. You need to inform the HDB officer regarding your co-ownership with you mum in the said property.

Prior to TOP, you need to have your name to be removed from the flat which you co-own with your mum.

If you are buying a resale HDB, I would suggest you remove your name asap.

Should there be any CPF which was utilised on you end, the sum of money will be needed to be return to your CPF OA

If you need more enquiry, feel free to contact me.

Hi Sir,

Yes, if you're planning to buy a HDB flat with your wife, you will need to remove your name from the current flat, as nobody is allowed to own more than 1 HDB flat.

Alternatively, if you do not wish to, or unable to remove your name from the current flat due to financial issues, you may wish to consider purchasing a private property with your wife instead.

Should you need any further assistance in matters relating to property, please contact me at my mobile 9748 6305  . I will be happy to assess and share with you the possibilities for you and your partner in the current market.

Thank you.

Best regards,
