My mum and I (my name was included after my Dad's death) currently own a 3 room hdb flat. I hope to purchase a flat myself when I turn 35 in a few months' time. How can I get my name out of the HDB? Will I be eligible for any subsidy?

Evening Tan,

If your late father got the unit under the old scheme, you are considered as having enjoyed the subsidy. To revert such situation, you have to sell off the current unit and let HDB register the sales of your current unit under your mother's name.

However, this is not what you are looking at. Upon reaching 35, to purchase a resale unit under single scheme, you can opt for part purchase or transfer of ownership. Either way, your mum is required to pay back whatever CPF you have used for the unit, inclusive of interest.
