My mother in law is 82 years old. She has bought 2 HDB flats and enjoyed subsidies twice. She is considering buying a resale HDB flat of any size by payment of cash.
1. Does she need to pay back any levy?
2. She is a widow so can she buy solely under her name?
3. Can you buy a 5 room hdb resale flat?
4. Can she apply for new bto flat. She.does not own any flat now and is living with us
5. Any other things she need to take note of?
Thank you

Hi,

No resale levy is payable as she's purchasing a resale flat.

She can purchase under her own name if she's a Singapore Citizen.

She can purchase a resale flat of any flat types, there is no restrictions.

She will not be eligible to apply for a BTO flat, as you mentioned that she had already taken twice subsidies.

As she's above age 75, she will not be able to secure a loan for the purchase. Upon resale submission, she will need to produce her marriage cert and her spouse's death certificate to HDB for verification purpose.

I am experienced and well-versed in both HDB and private transactions. Should you need require further assistance in matters relating to property, please contact me at my mobile 9748 6305  .

Thank you.
