My late wife passed away after we have purchased a flat (5yrs) and my HDB has been fully paid off by the insurance. My 2 children who are working now are intending to buy a unit (both under 35yrs) and include me as occupant to satisfy the requirement to purchase a HDB in resale market. Can I still keep my existing HDB while my name is included as an occupant in my children's unit?

Morning,

I have to say NO. With you being the essential occupier, to facilitate the purchase, you are not allowed to keep the existing unit.

Do feel free to contact me if you require further assistance.

In that case, does my children need to pay any resale levy if they purchase a HDB with housing grant after selling?
