Hi, you do not need to wait for MOP of the HDB as you do not have any interest in the resale HDB flat.

Purchasing private property on your own is allowed. It is actually a common technique by couples to own multiple homes.

To buy private property, you need not wait until the MOP of 5 years is up as you are not registered as owner or occupant of this hdb.
