This process has to be submitted to HDB for approval, however, it is unlikely going to be approved now as HDB does not allow decoupling unless there is a genuine reason to do so.

Hi Sir,

This process is called the transfer of ownership, and it will be assessed on case by case basis by HDB and usually approved only due to special circumstances such as divorce, demise of owner or financial hardship. It will not be allowed for reasons such as investing in 2nd property.

Hi,

1) This change of ownership is no longer allowed for a married couple since April 2016.
2) The HDB had put this to a stop by issuing a new policy since then.
3) This is to avoid citizens from taking advantage to evade paying ABSD when the post owner (now occupier) buys a private residential property after changes of ownership status.
