My grandma willed a landed property to me and she passed away one year ago. The landed property is now in my name. I now want to buy a BTO in the next few years, can I buy it without disposing of the private property currently held in my name?

Afternoon Jason,

Under current ruling, NO. Within 6 months from key collection, you have to sell away your private property or transfer it to someone else.

Hi Jason,

You can try write in to HDB to appeal.
No harm trying.

Hi Jason,

Why are you looking at buying a BTO instead of doing some works on the landed property? I believe that you should be able to do some renovation or addition and alterations to the unit with similar cost and come up with a nice unit.
