Congratulations on securing your Permanent Resident status! The good thing is that Additional Buyers' Stamp Duty is now reduced to 5% for your 1st residential property. The sad news is, you are still ineligible to purchase a resale HDB as you will be required to fulfil a 3 years period before you are eligible.

Hi,

You can only purchase a HDB resale flat if your spouse is a Singapore Citizen. If your spouse is also a SPR, you will both need to fulfill 3 years of SPR before being eligible to purchase a HDB resale flat.

If you're not married, you will not be eligible to purchase a HDB resale flat. The only option would be a private residential.

Hi Sir

In order for PR to purchase HDB, they must purchase it under public scheme (2 family members normally couple) and both parties need to hold a PR status for at least 3 years. Another alternative is you must have a Singaporean Citizen immediate family members (matured child or parents) to form a family nucleus with them and purchase a HDB together. In today's market where the value of HDB do depreciates in value over time, you may want to consider purchasing a private property instead.
