When you gift your property to someone else, you would have done the requirement legislation to remove your ownership from the property. Hence you would be eligible to purchase resale HDB unit using bank loan.

Hi Priya, as long as you have removed your names from all overseas properties, you can purchase resale HDB from the open secondary market.

should you choose to do so you will need to speak with a banker to ascertain your loan quantum based on your gross household income.

I would advise that you speak to a qualified real estate agent to assist you through the sale process of buying a HDB flat.

Hi Priya,

You can choose to purchase a resale HDB flat first but have to dispose off your ownership in private properties (be it in Singapore or overseas) within 6 months from completion date.
