Almost impossible I'd say unless you have a really substantial reason to appeal that HDB cannot reject. Otherwise, you may look into expediting your Singapore Citizenship application to beat that 3 years period.

Alternatively, you may look into purchasing a cheaper resale condos as an alternative.

Hi Kim Hau,

1) This is a policy implemented in 2012 that an SPR family can only be eligible to buy a resale HDB after obtaining their SPR status for a minimum of 3 yrs.
2) So far no one challenged this policy, not even during the downtime of HDB price from 2013 to mid of 2020, which is about 7 yrs.
3) The price of HDB now had picked up from mid-2020 till now, it implied that the demand is higher than supply.
4) I can't see the HDB will consider relaxing the policy during this period of high demand.
5) The only way to shorten the wait is for either one of you to succeed in conversion from SPR to SC.
