Hi,
1) In a private transaction, stamp duty only has 14 days grace period upon exercising OTP.
2) That was why we always advise buyers to appoint a lawyer once they are offered an OTP.
3) In HDB, the stamp duty is only payable after the resale transaction is approved by HDB.
4) And your lawyer should have sufficient time to write into CPF board for releasing of funds for stamp duty payment.
5) The CPF board will need 14 working days in order to release funds for stamp duty payment.
6) This was the main reason why a lawyer must be appointed once you receive LOO (Letter of Offer) from the bank for HDB purchase.
7) If you are using the HDB lawyer then you won't need to worry about this.
